Our Sphynx Breeding Programs
One standard of care. Different Sphynx expressions. Our program names help describe the appearance and specialized traits produced within Purradox; they are not grades of health, temperament, quality, or worth. Every pairing begins with the same health-focused breeding philosophy.
Different Looks. The Same Purradox Standard.
Classic, Modern, and Ultra describe different Sphynx expressions within our breeding program. DBE describes a specialized Dominant Blue Eye trait that may appear alongside different expressions. Appearance matters, but it never replaces the priorities that guide our breeding decisions: health, temperament, pedigree, genetic diversity, structure, and quality of life.
Every Purradox Program Prioritizes
- Ongoing HCM screening by a certified veterinary cardiologist
- FIV/FeLV negative breeding cats
- Genetic testing and pedigree research
- Veterinary care and diagnostic testing when appropriate
- Temperament, structure, and thoughtful pairing decisions
- Daily socialization, enrichment, and lifetime breeder support
Explore Our Sphynx Programs
There is no single “best” Purradox program. These names help families understand the different appearances and traits they may see in our kittens while the same health and care standards remain at the foundation of every litter.
Classic Sphynx
For families drawn to the recognizable, elegant Sphynx silhouette. Classic kittens tend toward a more traditional profile with balanced features and moderate wrinkling.
- More traditional profile
- Balanced head and muzzle
- Moderate wrinkling
- Recognizable Sphynx expression
Modern Sphynx
Our Modern expression emphasizes a rounder, more expressive appearance while maintaining the same breeding priorities used throughout Purradox.
- Shorter muzzle
- Rounder facial expression
- More visible wrinkling
- Bold Sphynx presence
Ultra Sphynx
Ultra represents the most distinctive end of the Purradox aesthetic, with abundant wrinkling, exceptionally soft skin, and a noticeably shorter facial appearance.
- Shorter facial appearance
- Abundant wrinkling
- Exceptionally soft skin
- Distinctive overall expression
DBE & Odd-Eye Sphynx
Our Dominant Blue Eye program focuses on striking blue or odd eyes outside traditional pointed blue-eye patterns. DBE describes eye color rather than a separate head or body type.
- Blue or odd eyes
- Specialized eye-color genetics
- May occur with different Sphynx expressions
- Availability depends on planned pairings
What Every Purradox Program Has in Common
A kitten's expression may differ, but the priorities behind the breeding program do not. Our goal is to make thoughtful decisions that support health, temperament, sound structure, genetic diversity, and a positive start in life.
Health-Focused Pairings
Pairing decisions consider health history, genetic information, pedigree, structure, temperament, and the goals of the breeding.
Ongoing HCM Screening
Breeding cats receive ongoing HCM screening by a certified veterinary cardiologist. Cardiac screening remains an important part of our program rather than relying on DNA testing alone.
Health & Diagnostic Testing
Our program uses FIV/FeLV testing, genetic screening, veterinary evaluation, and additional diagnostics such as PCR testing when medically appropriate.
More Than Appearance
Appearance is only one part of a breeding decision. Temperament and suitability for family life are also important considerations in our cats and kittens.
Purposeful Socialization
Kittens receive hands-on interaction, toys, enrichment, household exposure, and opportunities for normal social development as they grow.
One Standard of Care
Classic, Modern, Ultra, and DBE kittens receive the same standards for nutrition, veterinary care, socialization, go-home preparation, and lifetime breeder support.
How Program Pricing Works
Sphynx kitten pricing may vary based on individual aesthetic and genetic traits, including eye color, color or pattern, wrinkling, facial expression, and other distinctive characteristics. Pricing differences do not represent different levels of health, care, temperament, or worth.

Sphynx Breeding Program Questions
Learn how our Sphynx expressions and specialized traits are described, what remains consistent across the program, and how to share your preferences when looking for a kitten.
What is the difference between Classic, Modern, Ultra, and DBE?
Classic, Modern, and Ultra describe different Sphynx appearances, ranging from a more traditional expression to increasingly distinctive wrinkling and facial characteristics. DBE is different: it describes the Dominant Blue Eye trait and may occur alongside different Sphynx expressions.
Is one Purradox program better than another?
No. Program names are not quality grades. They help describe appearance and specialized traits. Every Purradox kitten is raised under the same health-focused breeding philosophy and receives the same standards of veterinary care, nutrition, socialization, and breeder support.
Can I request a specific Sphynx expression?
Yes. Approved adopters may share preferences for expression, color, eye color, sex, personality, and overall look. Availability depends on current and upcoming litters. The Priority List offers earlier access and specialized notifications when you are waiting for particular traits.
Are Ultra Sphynx kittens always available?
No. Ultra characteristics depend on the traits produced by individual pairings and how each kitten develops. We do not guarantee that a litter will produce a particular expression.
Are DBE or odd-eye Sphynx kittens always available?
No. Dominant Blue Eye and odd-eye traits depend on genetics and carefully planned pairings, so availability varies. DBE describes the eye trait rather than a separate standard of care or a separate Sphynx body type.
Does a kitten's program predict personality?
No. Program terminology primarily describes appearance or eye-color traits. Personality varies by individual kitten, so temperament is observed separately as kittens grow.
Does every program receive the same health testing and care?
Yes. Our breeding cats are FIV/FeLV negative, genetically screened, and receive ongoing HCM screening by a certified veterinary cardiologist. Kittens across our program receive the same standards for veterinary care, nutrition, socialization, preparation, and breeder support.
Do different expressions or traits have different prices?
Individual pricing can vary based on aesthetic or genetic traits such as eye color, color or pattern, wrinkling, facial expression, and other distinctive characteristics. Visit our Sphynx kitten pricing page for current details.
How are Purradox breeding pairings chosen?
Pairings are considered using multiple factors rather than appearance alone. Health history, cardiac screening, genetic information, pedigree, genetic diversity, temperament, structure, and the goals of the breeding are considered together.
