✨ Optional Rare Trait Upgrades

While every Purradox kitten receives the same loving start, certain traits are naturally rare and require higher investment in our breeding lines. We apply a modest fee to kittens carrying these traits to reflect that investment and their unique appeal.

Why the Fee?
These traits are exceptionally rare, and breeding for them ethically requires specialized bloodlines. Our parent cats with these features often cost double or triple to acquire. This small upgrade fee helps ensure the responsible continuation of these beautiful traits.

🎀 Optional Experience Upgrades (For Any Kitten)

You can enhance your adoption experience with optional upgrades—available for any kitten, regardless of color or features.

While every kitten receives the same loving care and inclusive adoption process, we proudly produce a variety of unique traits, colors, and features that make each kitten special in their own way.

💖 Our Breeding Lines & Traits

Classic Sphynx Line

  • Definition: The traditional Sphynx look with a longer, wedge-shaped head and more pronounced muzzle.

  • Key Traits:

    • Almond or lemon-shaped eyes

    • Balanced wrinkles (forehead and neck, but less extreme overall)

    • Nose is straight, not overly short

    • Overall structure is elegant and closer to early Sphynx standards

  • Best described as: The “original” Sphynx type, maintaining the breed’s natural look.

Modern Sphynx Line

  • Definition: A refined version of the Classic type, bred for more wrinkles and a slightly shorter, rounder muzzle.

  • Key Traits:

    • Larger, rounder eyes than Classic

    • Shorter muzzle without flattening the face

    • Deeper wrinkles on the forehead, cheeks, and neck

    • Slightly more compact, with a “cute” baby-doll expression

  • Best described as: A middle ground between Classic and Ultra with enhanced wrinkles and a softer, modern appearance.

Ultra / Persian-Style Sphynx Line

    • Definition: A highly exaggerated Sphynx type with a very short or flat muzzle, heavy wrinkles, and large, round eyes.

    • Key Traits:

      • Short to flat nose, sometimes resembling a Persian/Exotic Shorthair profile

      • Very deep facial wrinkles, especially around the muzzle and forehead

      • Extreme “owl-like” or “baby-faced” expression

      • Compact head and more pronounced doming of the skull

    • Best described as: The most exaggerated Sphynx type, often called “Persian-style” or “Ultra” due to the extreme features.

DBE Sphynx Line (Dominant Blue Eye and Odd Eye Sphynx)

The DBE Sphynx Line refers to Sphynx cats that carry the Dominant Blue Eye (DBE) gene, which produces striking blue eyes or heterochromia (odd eyes) regardless of coat color or pattern. Unlike recessive blue eyes, the DBE trait can consistently pass to offspring when bred correctly, making it a highly sought-after and rare line within the Sphynx breed.

At Purradox Sphynxery, our DBE Line combines this stunning genetic trait with health-tested, ethically bred Classic and Modern Sphynx lines, producing kittens that are not only visually captivating but also structurally sound and well-tempered. These kittens often feature:

  • Solid blue eyes in any coat color or pattern.

  • Odd eyes (heterochromia) with one blue and one copper, gold, or green eye.

  • Genetically diverse pairings to maintain health and avoid inbreeding common in rare lines.

The DBE Sphynx Line is carefully curated and produced in limited numbers each year, making these kittens highly exclusive and in high demand.

🎨 Colors, Patterns, and Unique Features We Offer

At Purradox Sphynxery, our kittens display one of the widest ranges of colors and patterns found in the breed. Every kitten is a unique work of art, with skin that highlights the beauty of their genetics.

  • Lilac: Soft, diluted version of chocolate with a frosty appearance.

  • Red: Bold, fiery shade that makes kittens stand out.

Patterns

In addition to color, Sphynx kittens can display unique patterning that adds to their individuality:

  • Solid: Single-color kittens for a sleek, uniform look.

  • Bi-Color: A mix of color and white, including tuxedo patterns.

  • Tabby: Stripes, swirls, or marbling that create a wild, exotic effect.

  • Tortie: Marbled blend of two or more colors, typically female.

  • Calico: Bold patches of three colors, usually including white.

  • Dilute Calico: Soft, pastel version of the classic calico.

  • Harlequin: Mostly white with large, irregular patches of color.

  • Van: Primarily white with color restricted to the head and tail.

  • Pointed (Colorpoint): Color limited to face, ears, paws, and tail, often with blue eyes.

  • Mink: Softer, blended version of pointed with aqua eyes.

  • Sepia: Even shading across the body with warm tones.

Eye Colors

Our kittens are just as captivating in the eyes as they are in color and pattern:

  • Green: From sage to emerald, a classic Sphynx look.

  • Gold & Copper: Warm, glowing tones that pair beautifully with reds and creams.

  • Blue: Striking and cool, especially against light coats.

  • Aqua: A rare blend of blue and green, seen in mink-patterned kittens.

  • Dominant Blue Eye (DBE): Genetic trait producing vivid blue eyes in any color or pattern.

  • Odd-Eyed (Heterochromia): One blue eye paired with green, gold, or copper for a truly unique appearance.

Skin Textures & Special Features

  • Velvet Skin: Suede-like, soft to the touch.

  • Silk Skin: Ultra-smooth, delicate texture.

  • Silicone Skin: Plush, slightly “rubbery” feel, often in Ultra Sphynx.

  • Short Persian-Style Faces: Compact muzzles for a baby-doll expression.

  • Extreme Wrinkling: Deep folds across the head, neck, and body.

🌟 Why Our Lines Matter

We carefully select our breeding pairs based on:

  • Health (DNA testing, annual HCM scans, and routine veterinary screening)

  • Temperament (affectionate, family-friendly personalities)

  • Physical traits that reflect the beauty and diversity of the Sphynx breed

Our goal is to preserve and celebrate the variety this breed offers—not just appearance, but health, heart, and individuality.

What’s the difference between the Classic, Modern and DBE Lines?
  • Classic Sphynx Line
Focused on the traditional look of the Sphynx breed, these kittens feature balanced wrinkle patterns, longer muzzle profiles, and a classic athletic body type.

  • Modern Sphynx Line
For those who love extra wrinkles and a more “Persian-inspired” short-faced look, our modern line focuses on producing kittens with heavy wrinkle patterns, shorter muzzles, and the distinct facial structure popular among modern Sphynx enthusiasts.

  • DBE & Odd-Eyed Program
We are proud to specialize in producing kittens carrying the Dominant Blue Eye (DBE) gene and odd-eyed Sphynx kittens—some of the rarest and most captivating eye colors found in the breed.

Are DBE Line kittens guaranteed to have blue or odd eyes?

Our DBE Line includes kittens who carry the Dominant Blue Eye (DBE) trait or display odd-colored eyes. Eye color can evolve slightly as kittens grow, so placements are made after traits are confirmed around 6–8 weeks.

Is there a payment plan or financing option available?

While we do not offer in-house financing, we accept Affirm, Afterpay, or PayPal Credit through eligible platforms. You can also break up payments after placing a deposit, as long as the kitten is paid in full by 12 weeks.

Do I need to apply before seeing prices or reserving a kitten?

Yes. All potential adopters must complete our online application. Once approved, you can either reserve an available kitten or place a Priority Member deposit to be matched from future litters.

Why are Sphynx kittens so expensive?

Sphynx breeding involves extensive health testing, vet care, genetic screening, specialized nutrition, and hand-raising kittens in a clean, indoor environment. Their care is intense, but their loyalty and personality are priceless.

What makes a kitten qualify for the Classic, Modern or DBE Line?
  • Classic Line: Traditional look – longer face, moderate wrinkles, athletic build.

  • Modern Line: Shorter face, heavy wrinkles, round cheeks – a modern twist on the breed.

  • DBE Line: Focused exclusively on rare eye genetics (DBE or odd eyes) – regardless of face or body style.

Do prices vary based on gender or color?

Gender does not affect pricing. However, rarer colors or patterns (such as blue, mink, seal, or bicolor) and eye traits may influence whether a kitten is placed in our Elite Program.

Can I adopt a retired King or Queen for a lower cost?

Occasionally, we retire a King or Queen from our program. These cats are placed at a lower adoption fee and make wonderful companions. Inquire to be added to the Priority List for a retiree.
